Dynasty Warriors: Gundam marked, back in 2007, Koei’s “assault” of the next generation platforms. It was indeed a bit late for the Japanese giant, but they quickly got back on track – as a proof, Koei is now announcing the second iteration of the mecha warriors game, and the company promises it will be bigger and better than anybody can imagine.
The story is pretty straightforward: Earth is struck by a chaotic assault launched by rebel space colonies and a brand new age of combat arises out of the need to stop those attacks. The age of Mobile Suit is the ultimate weapon that marks the beginning of the new age and Koei promises that you’ll fully understand its powers only when you see it in action.
“With every feature within the game ramped up to the max, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 will be bigger, better and more spectacular in every way,” said Will Curley, Sales Manager for Koei.
Also, this sequel will include new stories featuring mecha from the latest Gundam anime, plus mecha from Char’s Counter Attack and much more. Also, it comes with brand new conscepts, too: with mecha parts collected throughout the course of the game, players will be able to adapt a Mobile Suit which can be piloted into combat. Sounds like good old Koei fun to me!
