Probably few of you have played the previous New Star Soccer game – I know I found it by mistake, but I was completely blown away by its coolness. Now, out of nowhere, I get the news that New Star Soccer 4 is out and, boy, I’m happy to hear that! And trust me, even if it is an indie project and you’ve probably never heard about it, it truly rocks!
Before “Become a legend” game modes ever existed, New Star Soccer challenged the gamers to take control over one single football player and turn it into a star in a full career simulation game. Although the previous title had its fair share of bugs and it advanced pretty slow, it was still pure fun to play, just like Sensible World of Soccer was (NSS has a similar design).
However, New Star Soccer 3 is old news, let’s find out what improvements brings the fourth game in the series. You’ll start in the lower leagues of a given nation (the game has 90 leagues, 3000 clubs and 30,000 players so you’ll have quite some competition!) and start building your career. You’ll have to build your skills in training mini-games, keep good relationships with friends and media and even get yourself a cute girlfriend!
Also, New Star Soccer 4 comes with a new 3D match engine that finally brings different camera positions, and 50 achievements to be won during your career. The game can be purchased for $19.95 from the official website. And I do urge you to at least give it a try!
