EA and NetDragon Working on Dungeon Keeper MMO

Back in 1997 when Dungeon Keeper was released by Bullfrog, I simply fell in love with the unique RTS and kept playing it until my eyes were bleeding. Just imagine my surprise to hear, over a decade later, that Electronic Arts and NetDragon plan to turn the concept into a massively multiplayer online game.

Unfortunately, NetDragon is a Chinese-based company, which means that the upcoming game, referred to as Dungeon Keeper Online will only be available to Asian markets. I can’t say I’ll start crying just yet since there are virtually no details about the game – all we know is that DKO will be a MMORPG based on the original Bullfrog RTS and it will include “themes, characters and other game content”.

About the agreement between the two companies, Jon Niermann, President of EA Asia Pacific said, “The partnership marks a significant milestone for EA as it will enhance our intellectual property and extend our product reach throughout the Greater China region. It will also further enhance our intellectual property with differentiated, high-quality games, particularly in the field of MMORPGs.”

We’ll keep our eyes open and keep you informed!
