World of Goo, the hot physics-based puzzle game retails for a pricy 1500 Wii Points (at least pricy in WiiWare terms), but it’s a great title and its devs, 2D Boy, know that. So get your Wiimote and grab living, squirming, talking globs of goo to build structures, bridges, cannonballs, zeppelins and giant tongues. 100% fun!
Art Style: CUBELLO, an in-house Nintendo mixed-genre game (strategy, puzzle and reflexive) is available for just 600 Wii Points. As each stage begins, various colored cubes form into one large object called a Cubello, which floats and rotates as you play. Launch additional cubes from your magazine and try to connect four or more of the same color, removing them from the Cubello and eventually leaving only its core. A match-four type of game, maybe?
The Virtual Console gets its share of goodies as well, with Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition getting the top spot. The Sega Genesis classic is sold for 800 Wii Points and it contains both the CHAMPION and HYPER rule sets. Fight!
The other title to be released on the Virtual Console this week is a SNES original, Secret of Mana. In this adventure, things are not as they seem: treasure chests hide booby traps, monsters are friends and friends are enemies; it’s a world turned upside down that you must make right. And the only way to succeed is to solve the Secret of Mana.
