gta-v-393-600Grand Theft Auto V has become the best-selling game ever in the UK.

When the game was initially released on PS3 and Xbox 360 it has already acquired the record for gaining both the highest revenue in one week (£94 million when it launched) and the highest UK revenue of all time.

The game was just behind Call of Duty: Black Ops in terms of total unit sales, which it has surpassed with the games release on PS4 and Xbox One. This weeks’ performance ultimately puts it at number one in the UK All Formats Chart this week.

Another game to make a splash in the charts is Far Cry 4, which manages to easily become the franchises’ best-selling game, helped by the Tuesday release, as opposed to the Friday release of previous releases.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare falls behind those two releases down to third this week, followed by FIFA 15, which holds onto fourth place.

Dragon Age: Inquisition enters the charts in fifth place, with week one sales almost exactly the same as when Dragon Age II debuted back in 2011. Bear in mind, Chart Track does not include digital downloads.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity drops down four places to sixth, as WWE 2K15 climbs up 13 places into seventh following its release on the PS4 and Xbox One.

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham falls three places to eighth with Minecraft: PlayStation Edition finds itself in ninth.

The Top 10 is rounded off by Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which drops seven places.

Elsewhere in the chart sees Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor gets a sales boost of 204% thanks to the games’ release on PS3 and Xbox 360, and a climb of 12 places to 11th.

It’s not such a good week for Sonic, however, as neither Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric on 3DS or its Wii U counterpart Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal manage to break into the Top 40 in their first week.

The UK All Formats Chart Top 10 (Week ending 22nd November 2014) is as follows:

1. (32) Grand Theft Auto V
2. (N) Far Cry 4
3. (1) Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
4. (-) FIFA 15
5. (N) Dragon Age: Inquisition
6. (2) Assassin’s Creed: Unity
7. (20) WWE 2K15
8. (5) LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
9. (7) Minecraft: PlayStation Edition
10. (3) Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Next week sees Super Smash Bros. come out on Wii U, with the 3DS hosting Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Also, LittleBigPlanet 3 makes its way onto PS3 and PS4. It will be interesting to see whether any of these can challenge GTA at the top.
