When it comes to Hollywood adaptations of video and computer games, the folks in charge rarely seem to be able to find characters suitable for the roles they’re playing (not to mention the fact that, almost always, the movies themselves suck really bad!). However, Hollywood producer Adrian Askarieh announced that finally a big screen adaptation of a computer game will do it right. In other words, Kane in the upcoming Kane & Lynch movie will be played by Bruce Willis. Great choice!
Even better, Bruce Willis also appeared to love the script of the Kane & Lynch movie:
“After Bruce Willis read [the script], he called it one of the best action scripts he’s ever read,” said Askarieh according to 1UP, “and Bruce is an expert in terms of action scripts because he’s read everything over the last 20 years.”
Let’s hope that indeed Kane & Lynch will be a great movie – the game itself was successful but highly controversial because Eidos was accused of influencing Gamespot to fire one of their editors (Jeff Gerstman). Hopefully no movie reviewers will get fired after the release of the film.
Now tell me what do you think: was there a better choice for Kane than Bruce Willis? Who could possibly play the even more difficult role of Lynch. And, completely off-topic… why aren’t they making a Left 4 Dead movie with this cast?
