batman-freeflow-combatNow that the game is out on all platforms, Eidos decided to detail the first upcoming downloadable content pack for their hit game Batman: Arkham Asylum, the Insane Night Map Pack that will see daylight in just a couple of days, on September 17.

The DLC pack will consist of two new Challenge Maps so that you will be allowed to hone your FreeFlow Combat skills and test your Invisible Predator powers. Yes, this means that one map – Totally Insane by its name – will be a combat challenge that will place the Dark Knight into the Records Room facing some fast-moving lunatic enemies.

The second map, Nocturnal Hunter, is a predator challenge where players take on a wholly different approach, practicing their predatory skills to remain in the shadows, utilizing the Arkham watchtowers and Batman’s arsenal of gadgets to gain the upper hand on The Joker’s army of goons patrolling below.

A really nice gift, I must admit it, even though it might come a bit too early for PC users who are just purchasing the title. If you can ever call free extra content “too early…”

After the release of the Insane Night map pack for Batman: Arkham Asylum, we’ll have one week to try it before Eidos releases the second free downloadable content pack, which is also expected to deliver two extra maps. Oh, joy!
