starcraft2There have been tons of rumors regarding the StarCraft II beta signups, but none of them were correct. Today, though, is the day when we can tell you for sure: StarCraft II beta signups begin and you have a chance to become one of the lucky few to be part of the team that first plays the game.

The announcement is official, coming from Blizzard’s website where we can read: “The StarCraft II beta-test period is coming in the months ahead! If you’d like a chance to participate, now’s the time to let us know.”

Here’s how to let Blizzard know that you want to take part in the Starcraft II beta:

Go to the Battle.net website, sign up (or log in if you have an account) and add a game under the “Manage My Game” option. Then you will be allowed to download a small client via the “Beta Profile Settings” and it will analyze your system specs. Once that information is sent back to Blizzard, you can apply for a StarCraft II beta. Piece of cake! Let’s just hope they will choose you for it! If not, you can always go and pre-order your StarCraft II copy from Amazon!
