modern-warfarreActivision has announced that they’re already planning the release of two DLC map packs for the unreleased Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. And I must say that I am disgusted and completely tired of such things: planning to milk more money before even having the decency to release a product (or, at least, TALKING about your plans to milk a product dry before it even hits our computers). Unfortunately, this is becoming a habit. A bad one.

Rants aside, the news of the upcoming DLC packs came via ShackNews: “We plan to launch two separate map packs for this title,” said Activision’s CEO Mike Griffith who offered no other details, though.

However, it appears that even the developers are getting tired (or maybe the consumers?) of all this milking process: the latest Call of Duty game, World at War, received three downloadable map packs, and it is believed by many that Modern Warfare 2 will actually be more popular than WaW…

Probably Activision and Infinity Ward are just waiting to see the public reaction to the game and, in case something goes awfully wrong, they simply withdraw and look into the future: they can’t risk losing money creating DLC packs that nobody would buy, right?
