AC IVAccording to a new report from Examiner, Ubisoft has two major core titles in development for their Assassins Creed franchise-both of which are set to come out next year.

One is in development exclusively for last-gen systems, most likely for the 360, PS3, and Wii U. The second title is a next-gen only set to be released only on Xbox One and Playstation 4.

Examiner’s sources also noted that Ubisoft is having the AC franchise undergo a “massive re-scope,” no other details were shared as to what exactly is changing for the series. Multiple sites, including Gamespot, have reached out to Ubisoft concerning this news story but their response was this: “Ubisoft does not comment on rumors and speculation.”

The latest entry in the AC series comes in the form of Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, which is available on the 360, PS3, PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The game marks a return to form for the series, and has continued the trend of the annual release for these titles. A total of five core AC titles have come out since 2009’s AC 2.
