Today’s free flash game of the day is The Pretender, a great platform/puzzle game for those who are not afraid of getting their brain tied in a knot. Developed by the folks over at Launching Pad Games, this great platform game promises to be just the first episode in a series of games that certainly has what it takes to become a major hit.

The Pretender – Part One tells the story of a magician whose latest trick goes terribly wrong and takes his entire audience into another dimension. Stuck there, too, he must help the poor souls get back to the real world. Of course, it’s easier said than done, and you’ll see that in a series of really challenging levels – but very fun, anyway!

The levels in The Pretender – Part One are not huge, but they are enough of a challenge once you’re in, especially due to some gameplay twists, like the magician’s ability to use some powerful devices that turn him into a The Thing-like monster made of solid stone, or into a feather-like air creature. Using these special “powers” and combining them with the environment, you will eventually save all the souls, but don’t expect it to be an easy job!
