heroes-classicWhat a nice surprise! It appears that Ubisoft is planning to release a new game in the Heroes of Might and Magic series, most likely a Heroes of Might and Magic VI game that would certainly aim to record the success of the third game in the series which is, in my opinion, the best Heroes of Might and Magic game.

According to a job posting discovered by Xbox 360 Achievements, Ubisoft Shanghai is looking for a lead designer for a “Heroes of MM” game. So even though it’s not obviously written “Might and Magic,” since Ubisoft holds the rights for the game and we’re talking about a pretty successful franchise, I think it’s HoMM VI we’re talking about!

However, hearing that it’s Ubisoft Shanghai who’s developing the game, makes me feel a bit uncomfortable and dazzled: the studio is best known for developing first person shooters like Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon and just recently Tom Clancy’s EndWar – a RTS game that, however, can’t have any connections design or gameplay wise with a Heroes of Might and Magic game.

UPDATE: The job listing has been modified and now, instead of a “Heroes of MM game,” it simply says “a brand new title for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac”. So we’ll keep this as a rumor, still, even though it seems obvious that they are really talking about a HoMM VI game. We’ll tell you more as soon as we have extra details.
