Some people are still having a tough time playing Football Manager 2011 because of some really strange error messages that they get when they try to load up the game: saAuditMD.dll or saAuditMT2005.dll errors. In this article I will let you know what to do in order to fix both of these errors.

Let’s start with the first error message you can get: “This application has failed to start because saAuditMD.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem” Here is what you need to do, actually:

Download this official file from Sports Interactive then unzip it and copy the contents to your FM2011 install directory (usually C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2011)

The second error message you can get is: “This application has failed to start because saAuditMT2005.dll was not found. Re-installing this application may fix the problem.” Here is what you have to do to be able to run the game:

Download the file from the location above (if you haven’t done so already) and rename the saAuditMT.dll file to saAuditMT2005.dll

If this still doesn’t fix your problems, it means that you have copied the game’s launch file (FM.exe) directly to the desktop. Do not do this, always create a ‘shortcut’ and cut that to your desktop!

To create a desktop shortcut

1. Navigate to the FM11 installation folder (C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2011)
2. Right click on the FM11.exe icon
3. Choose Send to Desktop (create shortcut)

Note the Steam install can be found at this location:

C:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\football manager 2011

Good luck solving your Football Manager 2011 saAuditMD or MT problems!
