The latest game in Rockstars’ smash hit franchise is not the 12th best-selling game of all time for the UK, according to Chart-Track.
The games sales pointed this way after the game sold 1.57 million units in the UK in its first day, which saw it gain massive revenue of £65 million, smashing previous holder Call of Duty: Black Ops, which sold 1.41 million back at release in 2010 which earned £58 million revenue. Plus after five days it sat at being the 24th best-selling game in the UK of all time.
Total revenue earned sees Grand Theft Auto V in fifth, behind four Call of Duty games, but has almost equalled the amount made by Black Ops, and Grand Theft Auto is still rising in this respect.
Elsewhere in the games chart, FIFA 14 held onto the top spot, despite seeing its sales drop by 68%, although this is an improvement on the 72% drop suffered by FIFA 13 last year.
Despite being a big gap in sales between the top two and the rest of the top 10 there were four new entries in the charts. F1 2013 performed well enough to get third, just beating out the HD release of Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker in fourth. The other new entries appearing in the charts were NBA 2K14, which came in at seven and Just Dance 2014 made its way into ninth position.
The UK All Formats Chart Top 10 is as follows:
