We all wanted to become wizards at least once in our lives, but for most of us the dream didn’t come true. And that’s not necessary a bad thing, as Hey Wizard: Quest for the Magic Mojo, today’s free flash game of the day, seems to prove. Why and how – read on this overview/semi-review to find out!
In Hey Wizard: Quest for the Magic Mojo you are put in the shoes of a red wizard living in a red world. You have to save your red king that has been somehow kidnapped – but before doing so, you must rescue all sorts of mojos, defeat strange looking monsters and get better at using your multifunctional spells.
Hey Wizard: Quest for the Magic Mojo is basically a platformer that want so add some extra excitement to the mix: you can use some of your spells to make your wizard fly, you can summon monsters to help you in your quest and you can even learn some new spells by completing missions. All will make you a better (but unfortunately not “redder” wizard).
The levels in this free flash game are pretty large and the lack of a map can become painful at times, despite the fact that you have a compass pointing towards the location of your next Mojo. Also, you will have some tough times handling the “flying” spells at first – I know they kind of drove me mad – but in the end, once you get used to everything, you will have a nice experience. Minus the music which, like in most flash games is completely horrendous.
All in all, Hey Wizard: Quest for the Magic Mojo remains a solid flash game and one that has to be played if you like the platformer gene and if you aren’t easily put off by some really challenging levels. And really now – the “grow a beard” thing is not a must to play the game: you can see for yourself here.
