mass_effectAlthough the fact that Mass Effect will get sequels was not a big secret, since BioWare declared a while back that Mass Effect will be a trilogy, we never knew any details regarding the upcoming titles. However, the developers will break the silence on Mass Effect 2 at the Games Developers Conference 2009 which will be held March 23-27 in San Francisco.

According to a posting on the GDC website, BioWare’s Corey Andruko and Dusty Everman will talk about “The Iterative Level Design Process of Bioware’s Mass Effect 2”. According to the report, the 60-minute lecture will examine the BioWare Mass Effect team’s new level-creation process, which is focused on maximizing iteration for quality while minimizing rework and cost and how BioWare is currently implementing this process using elements of Scrum and Lean Development.

Although this sounds too technical for everybody to care, let’s not forget that we’re talking about the sequel to one of the most popular current-gen RPGs. Also, since this GDC session will be about game design, we’ll most likely get some images from Mass Effect 2. But for now we can do nothing but sit and wait for new details from BioWare.
