Microsoft is gearing up for their June console update for both the Xbox One and Xbox 360. With this change, Microsoft updated their Frequently Answered Questions page to give gamers information about what changes are coming to the June update.
The first change Microsoft announced was the use of apps on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 no long requires an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Apps that used to be hidden behind a paywall, such as YouTube, Twitch, and Skype are available for free starting in June. The second announcement was Games with Gold and Deals with Gold are coming to the Xbox One. Microsoft is starting the Games with Gold program on Xbox One with Max: The Curse of the Brotherhood and Halo: Spartan Assault.
Included in the FAQ, Microsoft has updated their refund policy a limited time. Users looking to cancel their Xbox Live Gold membership are entitled to receive a pro-rata for any unused days between cancellation date and the date of when the Gold membership, that was bought, ends. Any pro-rata requests have a deadline of August 31st and each request requires six to eight weeks to take effect. To take advantage of this Xbox Live Gold members should head here after the June update Xbox Support.
Microsoft also announced that these changes will affect all markets that currently have an Xbox 360 or Xbox One, as well as, future Xbox One markets.
