call of duty advanced warfareCall of Duty: Advanced Warfare has claimed the UK’s Christmas Number 1 for 2014.

A price-promotion on the PS4 saw the games sales rise by 33% and helped it to beat FIFA 15, which has to settle for second, with Chart Track pointing towards Activision planning ‘revenge’ for last year, when a price promotion saw FIFA 14 snatch 2013’s top spot last Christmas.

Grand Theft Auto V holds onto third place this week, with the PS4 version holding first place in the Individual Formats Chart.

Far Cry 4 holds onto fourth to become Ubisofts’ best-selling game over Christmas week. It holds off two other Ubisoft games which both enjoy a healthy sales boost this week. Assassin’s Creed: Unity is in fifth following a 97% spurt in sales, and The Crew, which gets a sales increase of 92% to drive into sixth.

Chart Track also noted that the average selling price for The Crew this week on PS4 was down by around £15 from last week.

Destiny jumps two places up to seventh, as Minecraft enjoys two spots in the Christmas Top 10, with the Xbox Edition edging out the PlayStation Edition as they come in eighth and ninth, respectively.

The Top 10 is rounded off by LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, which drops five places.
