PC Version Of The Division Won’t Be A Lazy Port

divisionHaving successful ports of a game has become a tricky thing for developers to pull off. Seeing games such as Fallout 3, Skyrim, and Assassins Creed 3 not running perfectly on every single platform they’ve been released on, it is quite understandable for fans to worry about future titles. Developer Massive Entertainment, however, has reassured fans that their anticipated Splinter game The Division won’t be a lazy port on PC platforms.

In response to a fan on a Q&A on the studio’s website, they wrote: “As you know, Massive has its roots in PC development. We are working hard and we want to make sure that we have a very high quality experience on PC,” the developer said. “You can be sure that our PC version won’t be a port, but a full-fledged, optimized version! We want to create the best game possible regardless of what platform you play on.”

The Sweden-based Ubisoft studio created popular PC games such as the Ground Control and World in Conflict strategy franchises. Also, considering that both the Xbox One and PS4 are using off the shelve PC parts, the process of making successful ports should become a much easier task for developers to accomplish.
