killzone2-screenThis is that kind of a news which can upset most of the PlayStation 3 fans, but that’s how life is sometimes: unsatisfactory. The same will stand when it comes to our virtual Killzone 2 lives, since game’s director Mathijs de Jonge had admitted that there are no plans for a co-op mode in the game. Even more, for those of you wishing to get some extra goodies via a Collector’s Edition, you won’t be able to, since there will be none, as Sony’s Jeff Rubenstein confirmed.

However, back to the co-op in Killzone 2, De Jonge told PSU that there are no plans for such a thing in the game and he also suggested that there are no plans for a patch to fix that, either.

“Technically it would be quite difficult to implement it for the story mode as for example the mission sections are loaded in seamlessly – no loading screens – and that would cause issues with teleporting players. Even without co-op it’s still a big game and gamers will have plenty to sink their teeth into,” he said.

What do you think? Is the lack of a co-op mode enough to hurt the game’s sales or PS3 fans will get over this and enjoy the game in single player as Guerrilla Games suggests?
