gdc-awardsGDC 2009 is still one of the most important events in gamin and, even though we didn’t have too much “rocking the boots” announcements, it’s still fun. Even more, the Game Developers Choice Awards winners were announced: Fallout 3 grabbed the game of the year award (we have also offered Bethesda’s RPG Unigamesity’s GOTY awards), but it’s also worth noting that LittleBigPlanet grabbed four awards. Here is the list of the Game Developers Choice Awards Winners:

Best Debut – LittleBigPlanet
Best Audio – Dead Space
Best Game Design – LittleBigPlanet
Best Downloadable Game – World of Goo
Best Handheld Game – God of War for the PlayStation Portable
Ambassador Award – Tommy Tallarico, co-creator of the Video Games Live orchestra
Best Writing – Fallout 3
Best Technology – LittleBigPlanet
Best Visual Art – Prince of Persia
Pioneer Award – Alex Rigopulos and Eran Egozy, founders of Harmonix
Innovation Award – LittleBigPlanet
Lifetime Achievement Award – Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear Solid franchise
Game of the Year – Fallout 3

As you can see, Grand Theft Auto IV, considered one of the most important titles of the previous year, bagged no awards. Kind of awkward, don’t you think?
