As expected, Electronic Arts did not waste any time celebrating the success of The Sims 3 and they are now working hard to release the first (in a series of many) expansion pack for the life sim game. Titled The Sims 3 World Adventures, the expansion is set to be released on November 16, 2009 and, as some might have expected, won’t bring in too many huge changes.
However, The Sims 3 World Adventures will allow fans of the game journey to various real-world exotic locations from China to Egypt and learn different impressive things like martial arts, explore ancient tombs or even search for secret treasures. Also, once the purchase of the expansion will be complete, 1,000 Sim Points will be earned by players who will be allowed to use them as they see fit.
“We’re thrilled with the global success of The Sims 3 over these last few months and are looking forward to expanding on the gameplay experience with one of the most robust expansion packs to The Sims yet,” said Scott Evans, General Manager of The Sims at EA. “Players will be able to take their Sims on the adventure of a lifetime and explore lands outside of Sunset Valley and Riverview, pursue thrilling new life destinies in locations around the world inspired by famous destinations, and immerse themselves in the open-ended gameplay where they’ll discover new cities in China, France and Egypt and share new stories.”
The Sims 3 World Adventures will also deliver some exclusive online content, according to Electronic Arts, but the publishers didn’t want to spoil the surprise and left us asking. If we get an answer, we’ll let you know! Until then, check out two more screenshots from The Sims 3 World Adventures:
