ff4Fans of the Finaly Fantasy IV RPG from Square Enix were left empty handed after finding out that the highly anticipated “sequel” (I’m talking about Final Fantasy IV: The After) was actually nothing but a mobile game released in Japan only. Today, we have word that Square Enix might be planning to deliver us some new FFIV action.

Siliconera has spotted a trademark application from Square Enix for a new title, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. The form was submitted both in Japan and the US, meaning that it might be just a bit more than a new name for an upcoming worldwide release of the mobile game. But we shouldn’t get too excited either. Being so similar with The After, this “new” Final Fantasy IV title might not be too much. We’ll know for sure if Square Enix decides to offer more details on the matter.
