wiiiWe’ve got another week with just two new games released on the Wii Shop Channel, which is certainly a reason of worry for Nintendo, who usually sees three titles released per week. Or maybe it’s just February, one of the slowest months in gaming… Either way, we’re going to get Evasive Space and Life Force this week and if you’re interested in expanding your games catalog, check out the game details below!

Evasive Space is a WiiWare title which can be purchased for 1,000 Wii Points and played by up to four players. You’ll play as a character with an incredibly stupid name (Konki the Stellar Guardian) and you’ll try to prevent the universe from going dark – whatever this trash means. You’ll have to guide your character through various stages filled with obstacles, trying to collect some Constellation Stones in order to save the world. Trash. But it could be exciting trash if you’re into the genre, and I won’t judge you.

The Virtual Console sees Life Force released this week and the classic Nes title can be purchased for 500 Wii Points. The 1988 shooter is a spin-off of the seminal Gradius series. Pilot the Vic Viper through six stages of intense action, alternating between horizontally and vertically scrolling environments, and take on wave after wave of enemies. Destroy particular enemies throughout the game (which takes place within the body of an enormous alien) to release power-up capsules and equip your ship with your choice of more powerful weapons, extra speed and shields. Another “planet saving” game, so it’s your pick: Evasive Space or Life Force?
