GTAVThe official nominations for this year’s Spike VGX, (which was formally known as the VGAs), has been revealed. As expected, Grand Theft Auto 5, Bioshock Infinite, and The Last of Us lead nominations in all categories with Tomb Raider not far behind. Grand Theft Auto 5 has a total of nine nominations, Bioshock Infinite has eight, The Last of Us with seven, and Tomb Raider with five.

The Game of the Year list includes all the aforementioned games with the addition of Super Mario 3D land, which will be available for the Wii U next week. In terms of indies The Fullbright Company’s wonderful Gone Home is leading the way with nominations for both Best Independent Game and Best PC game. The studio itself is featured in the Studio of the Year list.

The awards show this year will be taking up a different format than previous outings, with the event being streamed online for three hours on December 7. The show will start at 6pm ET/3pm PT. There will be a much stronger focus on interviews and next-gen demos, a first for the event. There will also be surprise trailers for unannounced titles as well.

Fans can vote for the most anticipated game, while also picking a game in the rest of the categories that’ll influence, but not determine, the final winners.
