PS-4-und-PS-Vita-According to a report today from United Kingdom trade site MCV, Sony might be prepping an “Ultimate” PS4/PS Vita bundle set for release sometime in December in Europe.

An official price for the bundle wasn’t detailed, but we expect it to be somewhere in the mid $500 mark. The PS4 costs $399.99 while the Vita costs $299.99, with a combined total of $600. We should expect a slight price reduction whilst buying this bundle to entice people to purchase it. The image below is courtesy of Videogamer.

Currently the remote-play functionality is a major feature for the Vita as it allows PS4 games to be streamed directly into the handheld. Early reports of the function working have been positive, with only slight latency issues while playing first-person shooters. This type of ecosystem surrounding both the PS4 and PS Vita only makes logical sense for Sony to bundle both hardware devices.

The PS Vita has been out for nearly two years and has seen a rather disappointing commercial performance. There is plenty of software available for the handheld, but a serious lack of AAA titles is a point of concern for both potential customers and Sony themselves. The PS4 however has managed to sell over one million units in North America alone in just under 24 hours. Releasing a bundle like this would do well to promote PS Vita’s significance as a compelling gaming device.

For now the rumors are only in relation to a European release, there’s no mention of a North American bundle.
