Following the completion of the closed beta stage, Sony will launch the Open Beta for the highly anticipated PlayStation Home tomorrow, December 11, with promised extra features and functionality. Except for a few regions, the Open Beta will be available for free to PS3 users all over the world, so tomorrow will be Sony’s day for sure. And just in time for Christmas!

The PlayStation Home Open Beta will bring users game-themed environments like Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Far Cry 2, as well as a Red Bull one. Also, Sony promises that there are much more coming, announcing virtual spaces from Electronic Arts, Activision, Warhawk, Resistance, Guitar Hero, SOCOM and more!

“PlayStation Home is truly a promising network community service on the PlayStation platform, made possible with the powerful combination of PS3’s overwhelming computational power and PlayStation Network that covers many countries around the globe,” said Kazuo Hirai, President and Group CEO, SCE. “We are committed to providing PS3 users with exciting gaming experiences with PlayStation Home and together with our partners and users, expand the new world of interactive entertainment as we move forward.”

Also, since your PlayStation Home will have to be customized just like your real home, Sony has announced partnership agreements with furniture designer Ligne Roset, and fashion brand Diesel, so both your avatar and the apartment you’ll get for free from Sony will look great and unique. Finally, the moment all the PS3 fans were waiting for – the PlayStation Home is now here!
