I guess it’s no surprize that we’re going to see a new NFS title. EA announced a while ago that they are working on Need for Speed: Undercover. The game will hit all major gaming platform (PC, PS3, XBOX 360) and the iPhone. The new NFS title will be available from 16 November.

Electronic Arts CEO, John Riccitiello, said in an interview with gamesindustry.biz that the inspiration for Undercover came from the Transporter movie. This could be a good idea, I think that we all got bored by the old “become the best driver in town” story.

Maybe now we will have a better story to go along with the cars. In this title you will play a cop that would go undercover to fight the bad guys of the Tri-City with only one connection to the ‘real world’ – the Agent Chase Linh (Maggie Q).
However don’t expect to see any gun fights in this NFS title. Also, there aren’t going to be any RPG’s elements, in case you were wondering.

The atmosphere of the game is not going to be as flashy as the latest NFS titles, but darker and oriented more to the realistic aspects of the environment and cars. This statement is backed up by the fact that all in-games movies are actually live acting.
