It’s just one month and a bit left until Civilization V hits the market and I am sure most of you are wondering if your computers will be powerful enough to run the game. Fortunately, the developers have released the minimum and recommended system requirements for Civilization V, so check them out below and decide:

Minimum system requirements for Civilization 5:

– Operating System: Windows XP SP3/ Windows Vista SP2/ Windows 7
– Processor: Dual Core CPU
– Memory: 2GB RAM
– Hard Disk Space: 8 GB Free
– DVD-ROM Drive: Required for disc-based installation
– Video: 256 MB ATI HD2600 XT or better, 256 MB nVidia 7900 GS or better, or Core i3 or better integrated graphics
– Sound: DirectX 9.0c-compatible sound card
– DirectX: DirectX version 9.0c

Recommended System requirements for Civilization V:

– Operating System: Windows Vista SP2/ Windows 7
– Processor: 1.8 GHz Quad Core CPU
– Memory: 4 GB RAM
– Hard Disk Space: 8 GB Free
– DVD-ROM Drive: Required for disc-based installation
– Video: 512 MB ATI 4800 series or better, 512 MB nVidia 9800 series or better
– Sound: DirectX 9.0c-compatible sound card
– DirectX: DirectX version 11

  1. My system is 10X better than these specs and the game still crashes at random and ad infiniteum….any response from Sid Meier and his gang of ripoffs ??????

    (Mine is i-7, 7 @ 2.4GHz, and 9 GB RAM..ok, so yeah its a LOT more than the gamemakers say the game needs)

    I only wish I was a lawyer, I would start a class action suit for fraud..i will guarantee thousands of signups as affected parties and the total pay-in of several million for a defective product.

    You cannot seel dishwashing liquid this bad and not get sued.
    This rip-off industry will start getting their quality control act together only when they get their asses sued and have to pay back.
