As first reported by Eurogamer, a new Dragon Age game is in the works, one for the iOS platform. EA has announced earlier today that they look to expand the Dragon Age universe on mobile platforms. The game is reportedly called Heroes of Dragon Age and looks to be heavily combat focused. Players will be able to build parties of fighters filled with both heroes and monsters. There is no report on whether or not the game will be related to Dragon Age: Inquisition; Bioware’s next gen Dragon Age RPG which is slated for a 2014 release. The iOS game is being developed by EA Capital Games, EA’s mobile-focused studio.

The only real connection between Heroes of Dragon Age and the console Dragon Age games is supposedly in the form of character appearances. Heroes of Dragon Age will span Dragon Age lore by including past characters form the console entries. Another thing to consider is EA’s failed attempt to bring Dragon Age to iOS before. Dragon Age Legends, which was released on Facebook in 2011, was shut down one year later. So whether or not creating another mobile Dragon Age game is a good idea remains to be seen.

There is no release date confirmed nor specific platform details, but one can only guess that it will be available on both iOS and Android devices. EA has currently gone through a minor over haul, with plenty of fan complaints and criticism received by the video game giant these past few years. So an iOS Dragon Age game doesn’t look like it’ll be a popular amongst fans.
