Xbox One Microsoft has proudly announced that their latest next-gen system has sold 1 million units worldwide.

“We are humbled and grateful for the excitement of Xbox fans around the world,” said Xbox’s Yusuf Mehdi. “Seeing thousands of excited fans lined up to get their Xbox One and their love for gaming was truly a special moment for everyone on the Xbox team. We are working hard to create more Xbox One consoles and look forward to fulfilling holiday gift wishes this season.”

Microsoft was able to provide some fun statistics. In the last 24 hours, over 60 million zombies were killed in Dead Rising 3, players have driven over 3.6 million miles in Forza Motorsport 5, 7.1 million combos in Killer Instinct were pulled off, and 8.5 million Ryse: Son of Rome enemies were slain.

These sales numbers exceed that of the Xbox 360’s launch numbers. Sony’s new console, the PS4, has also reached the one million sold mark but was only released in the U.S and Canada. The console will arrive in Europe on the 29th of November.

Both new consoles shatter sales expectations and demand, setting a bright future for the videogame industry.
