death-knightBlizzard has announced that the upcoming patch for World of Warcraft (3.0.8) which still has no release date set, will lift the Death Knight creation limit, allowing anybody who wishes to go for the new class the possibility to do so. Here is the complete announcement, as posted on the official World of Warcraft boards:

“With the next minor content update for World of Warcraft, we will be opening up death knight character creation so that if the account you play already has a level 55 or higher character in World of Warcraft, you will be able to create a new death knight on any realm within your region. Please keep in mind that restrictions still apply to new, non-transfer realms such that death knights cannot be created on those realms until you level a character to level 55 on that realm or until transfer restrictions are removed.”

Until now, following the release of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, players who had a 55 level character on a server were allowed to create a Death Knight on the same server (but not on others). This strange limitation, however, will be removed by the upcoming patch and I’m sure many WoW fans will be extremely happy.
