If you don’t have a really high quality game, then try to start a scandal with two big name FPS titles – at least that’s what the Duke Nukem Forever developers seem to believe with the announcement of the upcoming DLC Pack for the shooter, titled Parody Pack.
The Parody Pack DLC will make fun of Call of Duty and Team Fortress via three new game modes and 4 new multiplayer maps. Here are the details on these new maps and the obvious references:
- Call of Duke – Duke engages in modern combat in a war-torn city. Foes don’t stand a chance against the Duke when he spams the map with the N00b T00b.
- Sandbox – Players take the role of mini-Duke in a giant sandbox with two bases at either end made out of children’s toys. This map features Sticky Bombs.
- Inferno – Time machine engage! Duke does combat in a hellish landscape of lava and teleporters. Who turned on the 16-bit graphics, and more importantly, where did this DFG come from?
- 2Forts1Bridge – Hats? Duke doesn’t need no stinking hats. Give him a minigun and he’ll beat off all comers.
As I said, there will also be three new game modes introduced by the Parody Pack in Duke Nukem Forever: Freeze Tag (team deathmatches), Hot Potato (the winner is the one who manages to hold on to the babe the most) and Hail to the King (free-for-all mode).
The nicest thing and a real surprise comes from the fact that the DLC, expected to be released this fall, will be available FREE of charge for to all First Access Club members who registered their FAC membership before Duke Nukem Forever launched in their country. That’s indeed a really nice thing to do!
