Electronic Arts has recently purchased casual games giant PopCap games for the impressive sum of $650 million and the company certainly plans to win the money back as soon as possible. Apparently, one of their long-term strategies is to bring some of the most popular PopCap games titles to Facebook.
Therefore, according to the Games.com blog, during an investor meeting that took place yesterday, Electronic Arts revealed plans to release Plants vs. Zombies and Peggle to Facebook!
There were already rumors regarding the release of the zombie tower defense game before PopCap was purchased, which could mean that EA’s job of getting into the social games market with two new titles will be a lot easier. And having in mind that Electronic Arts themselves plan to deliver two new titles to Facebook (The Sims Social and Risk Factions), I’m sure that our bosses or real social lives will be very unhappy, since we’ll definitely have to play these games!
Are you looking forward to seeing the Facebook version of Plants vs. Zombies and Peggle?
