Acer Aspire V 15
The Acer Aspire V 15 is my go-to laptop for gaming (and most other resource-demanding activities like video editing, vlogging and so on) and it’s really difficult to find anything better at this price! The cheap gaming laptop is fueled by the solid Intel i7-6700HQ processor, 8GB of RAM (DDR4) and a more than decent graphics card: the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M with 2GB VRAM. The hard drive is rather slow (5,400 RPM) but it offers 1TB of storage space, so you really don’t have reasons to complain, especially at this price!
This is a 15.6″ Full HD laptop with decent battery (up to 8 hours on average use, but lasts a lot less when gaming). I usually prefer larger screen laptops for gaming, but one advantage of a smaller display size is its portability. So if you’re traveling a lot or if you expect to carry the laptop around often, a smaller laptop might be a better choice. It has no optical drive, but we rarely use those nowadays anyway. It does have an SD card slot reader and a bunch of other ports to keep you covered if you need to plug in additional peripherals. As a bonus, you also get a backlit keyboard so all in all this is an amazing choice for the price!
ASUS ROG GL752VW-DH71
It doesn’t happen too often to find ASUS’ Republic of Gamers laptops on a list of budget laptops, so I am really happy to be able to share with you such a great product at such a good price. We’re talking about a large display laptop here (17.3 inch, Full HD) and all the other goodies you would expect from a solid gaming laptops: today’s star, the i7-6700HQ Processor gives it the performance juice it needs, nicely rounded up by 16GB of RAM and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 2GB VRAM gaming graphic card. In other words, in terms of price/quality ratio, this is the best laptop on our list. It’s dirt cheap and amazing!
Being a laptop created by ASUS for gamers, it also comes with a bunch of other goodies: a great design with a matte finish, backlit keyboard, a slide-off upgrade panel in case you want to upgrade it in the future and it also comes with an optical drive to complement all the other useful ports (USBs, HDMI port, SD reader, headphones/microphone port). Truly impressive and, I must say it again, available for an amazing price!
MSI GE72 Apache Pro-003
This MSI laptop running on an Intel i7-6700HQ processor is very similar to the ASUS model. It also offers 16GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 2GB VRAM card and 1TB HDD. This is also part of a gaming line – MSI’s gaming line – so in the end it’s mostly a matter of personal preference and brand preference as the GE72 Apache and the ROG GL752VW-DH71 are almost identical. The MSI model is also a bit more expensive, so I would really go for the ASUS unless it sells out!
ASUS ROG G752VY
Another Republic of Gamers laptop makes our list and this time it comes bundled with a bunch of goodies. But until we get there, let’s talk specifications: it runs on the Intel i7-6700HQ processor, powered by 16GB of RAM and it also offers a better graphics card than the previous models: the great GeForce GTX 980M with 4GB GDDR5 VRAM. It also has a large, matte Full HD display (17.3″) and comes with a welcome SSD / HDD combo. The SSD offers just 128GB of storage (still enough for Windows and maybe a few games), while the HDD offers 1TB of storage space. A really sweet deal already!
But that’s not all! The G752VY model we’ve found comes bundled with a bunch of goodies that save you even more money: you will also get a special backpack for your laptop, a ROG cap and an ASUS controller, as seen in the image above.
Eluktronics 15.6″ Premium Gaming Laptop
Even though Eluktronics is not a brand with the impact that others on our list have, the truth is that they sell laptops that are cheap and of really high quality. You will see more and more people buying Eluktronics laptops today and more and more positive reviews, so you really have nothing to worry about! Especially when we’re talking about a cheap gaming laptops with an Intel i7-6700HQ processor and 16GB of RAM. It has a great graphics card – the Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M (with 3GB of RAM) and comes in a smaller size at 15.6″.
The battery lasts longer on this model compared to most of the other models on our list, but you’ll keep them plugged in anyway at most times, so it doesn’t really make the difference. However, despite its price, one of its most important flaws is the lack of storage: it comes with just one 128GB SSD. It’s true that it’s fast, but with today’s games requiring more and more GB, storage might become an issue sooner rather than later. But all the other specs are great, so if you believe that you could get some extra storage in the future for it, it’s a great choice!
Eluktronics P670RP6 VR Ready Gaming Laptop
What we have here is a real beast! Running on the Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor, it also comes with 16GB of RAM and a cherry on top: it has the GeForce GTX 1060 VR Ready Graphics Card with 6GB of DDR5. This is one of the best graphics cards on the market at the moment, so you’ve struck gold with this – this is a gaming laptop that can easily handle current generation games and much more!
We’re talking about a large gaming laptop as well – it has a 17.3″ display that can go up to 1920 x 1080 resolution. Storage should no longer be a problem as with the model above, as it comes with a 256 GB SSD / 1TB HDD combo. It has all sorts of other goodies that us gamers love, like the backlit keyboard and an amazing design. It also has a full HD webcam in case you decide to start streaming your gaming sessions and you look good on camera. All in all, although it’s the most expensive on our list, I’d still consider it fairly priced for what it offers.
So these would by my recommended cheap gaming laptops with an i7-6700HQ Processor. If your budget is not extremely limited, then I would definitely recommend getting the most expensive on our list, the Eluktronics P670RP6. But even if you’re on a tighter budget, you still have an amazing option with the ASUS ROG GL752VW-DH71, despite its older GPU. And if you don’t like my two preferred products, you still have four more to choose from! Additionally, you can further cut your budget through VoucherBin which offers great deals on laptops at online stores like Currys, Laptops direct, Argos etc.
