There were some rumors around the web claiming that Atlus plans to release a Persona 4 FES version of the upcoming Persona 4 JRPG, but the developers hurried to shot the rumors down: “There Will Only Be One (Very Awesome) Version of Persona 4,” they said and we’re happy things are now clear for everybody.
If you don’t know what’s the story, here it is: for the last iteration of the game, one year after the original release, an enhanced version of the title was released with the name of “Persona 3 FES” and that pissed off a few of the people that already had bought the game. And that’s where the false rumors came from.
“We are today able to announce that at no point in the future will we announce the release of a ‘FES’ version of Persona 4,” said Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “The very finest, most definitive version of Persona 4 will be the one released on December 9, 2008.”
The game will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 2 console and will also feature a “Side A” soundtrack CD. Those who pre-order the game will also get, while supplies last, a 100 page full color art book, while North Americans can purchase exclusively from Amazon an exclusive Persona 4 Social Link Expansion Pack offering a Teddie plushie, 2009 Calendar, Side B disc of the P4 soundtrack, and more.
