modern-warfare2-pursuitThe fact that some game developers and publishers love to take a dump on the computer gamers community is well known already, but it is always upsetting to find out that we’re getting it in the arse from developers who used to love us, the computer gamers.

I am talking here about Infinity Ward and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the highly anticipated title that becomes crappier and crappier for the computer gamer due to all sorts of limits, limitations and lack of support. Not only that we, the computer gamers, weren’t good enough for the Prestige Wdition of Modern Warfare 2, but we were also left out without modding support (one of the MAIN goodies about computer games!) and clans were left out “thanks” to the lack of dedicated server support.

But the nightmare for those who were wishing to buy Modern Warfare 2 is not over yet and only God knows how many shocking surprises Infinity Ward has for us! Right now, I can tell you that the developers confirmed that the upcoming FPS will come with a reduced multiplayer player limit: 18 (9-vs-9, as the console versions), unlike the previous 32 player limit.

According to Kotaku, Infinity Ward’s only excuse is: “The max number of players on all platforms are 1v1 through 9v9. This is the number of players we focused on when we were balancing map size, perks, classes, challenges etc.”

In other words, they didn’t find the computer gamers community big enough (or profitable enough) to give them some attention. Indeed, creating bigger maps and balancing them specifically for the PC owners of the game (who will be about 10% from the total, the rest being Xbox 360 and PS3 owners) would’ve been a bit more costly, but I find it really awkward for Infinity Ward to take their time and tell the PC owners about all these changes so close to the release date and after most of the pre-orders have been placed…

Now tell us – how upset are you, as a gamer, because of all these MW2 last minute announcements?

i never thought they would ever let down the community that first accepted their call of duty games, and would follow their series faithfully…. they’re more like treyarch now… which sucks monkeyballs

    disappointing.. and very sad

  2. theyre treating us badly as how ea sports have treated us by removing many sports titles from pc, as well as fifa being extremely backward when compared with the console versions, very disappointing…..
