sims3Wondering if your computer can run The Sims 3? Well, wonder no more, since Electronic Arts has decided to tell everybody which are the minimum system requirements to play the game. And, as expected – since EA and Maxis want everybody to be able to play the game, these are pretty low. Without further ado, here the system specs for running the game under Windows XP:

Processor – Pentium IV 2.0 GHz / Athlon XP 2000+
Memory – 1 GB
Graphics – GeForce FX 5900 / Radeon 9500
Graphics Ram – 128 MB

These specs kind of suggest that if your computer can run The Sims 2, it will be able to run The Sims 3 as well. If you have Windows Vista installed, you will need a slightly better system, but not a pain at all. Here are the sys reqs for Vista:

Processor – Pentium IV 2.4 GHz / Athlon XP 2400+
Memory – 1.5 GB
Graphics – GeForce FX 5900 / Radeon 9500
Graphics Ram – 128 MB

Have in mind, however, that these specifications are the minimum. For a complete experience, you will probably need about double these specs. But we’ll wait until EA releases the recommended system requirements and we’ll let you know then.
