Dead Rising 2 Already Leaked on Torrents!

Ouch – this certainly is gotta hurt – we have received some reports that Dead Rising 2, the upcoming horror game from Capcom has already been leaked on Torrent sites, two weeks before the official street date! This is amazing and must be one of the biggest wins recorded by software pirates in recent times.

I do not have 100% confirmation that the Dead Rising 2 torrent is really the game (it could be a scam, a prank or a virus-spreading method), but I did check out some open trackers and saw that Dead Rising 2 was indeed listed there, a DVD image of 6.30 GB. And if this is true, it will certainly piss off Capcom and make them reconsider releasing a possible sequel on the PC (the original Dead Rising did not make it to PC either!).

Dead Rising 2 is set several years after the infamous zombie invasion of Willamette. Unfortunately, the zombie virus was not contained at the conclusion of Dead Rising, spreading unchecked throughout the United States and Dead Rising 2 depicts a country where zombie outbreaks continue to strike. It is the player’s job to blast away tons of zombies – and it appears that those who own a PC will do it much sooner than everybody else, that if they risk installing pirated software on their computers.

UPDATE: We have received numerous e-mails confirming that Dead Rising 2 is indeed leaked on torrent sites, but the version is a clone of the original DVD, meaning that it still can’t be played. Hopefully Capcom have a solid protection that will keep the hackers at work for the next couple of weeks and no game crack will be released before the actual street date of the action horror title.
