Destiny, Bungie’s first person shooter/ action RPG set throughout the far reaches of space initially came out in 2014. Since then, the original game has been followed up with three expansion packs. These expansions have entitled players to new gear to attain, new story arcs and new raids, ultimately maintaining player interest in the game. In accordance with a listing spotted by Twitter user Lifelower on Amazon UK, Destiny: The Collection is seemingly going to be released on August 18th 2016 at a said price of £49.99. This edition of Destiny is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
As the name suggests, we can only assume ‘The Collection’ is referring to a version of Destiny that must include all of the Destiny expansion packs to date, The Dark Below, House Of Wolves and The Taken King. This is all well and good but it does however, leave some confusion in regards to the newest expansion pack, Rise Of Iron which is not set to be released until September 20th 2016. Can players expect a code to be included with this particular edition of Destiny, allowing us entitlement to the newest expansion upon release or will Destiny: The Collection not include the Rise Of Iron expansion altogether? It does seem unlikely given the title of this edition of the game.
Bungie is supposedly going to be making an appearance at the Gamescom 2016 event, perhaps we can expect some enlightenment on the matter then. If not we may have to just wait until the edition is listed on numerous sites more officially.
For those intent on merely purchasing the additional Rise Of Iron expansion pack as opposed to a whole new edition of the game, it is available to pre-order on numerous game retailer sites for £24.99. As mentioned prior it is set to be released later this year, September 20th 2016.
