Namco’s We Cheer Delivers Real, Good Looking Cheerleaders
The release of We Cheer, Namco Bandai’s cheerleading game for the Wii, was followed by quite a show delivered by three sexy girls (and real cheerleaders) – the Sheffield Storm All-star Team’s finest. And the girls in the game are at least as beautiful as the real ones, so this little game could come with some unexpected success and maybe even reach unforeseen audiences.
In essence, We Cheer allows all future all-star recruits to brush up on their techniques using two Wii remotes as virtual pom-poms to reach the top of their game. Following on-screen commands, players spin, shimmy and shake their way through a choice of 30 high-energy songs spanning over four decades of music. So it’s not quite the game your regular Halo 3 fan would play, but it could still be fun.
“We’re more than happy to be involved with a game which will hopefully give more publicity to our sport, which is always growing in popularity in this country,” commented Coral Head, Storm All-stars founder. “I’m a bit of a gamer myself but this was the first time I’d played a Wii. Now I have no excuses!”
And they’re suggesting you have no excuses as well: in We Cheer you will dance on various great songs (including ones by Hilary Duff and Paramore), create and customize your cheerleader, unlock even more girls and even multiplayer modes. And hopefully one day you’ll get to play with the three real cheers in the upper left corner, too.
