For the second week in a row Activision’s Call of Duty: World at War tops the UK charts, proving that brand name matters most than quality – I’m saying that especially because the latest in the CoD franchise is of a poorer quality than the previous iteration. But that’s not all, because last week’s game sales provided a few other surprises!

NFS Undercover debuted at 4, and Tomb Raider Underworld barely got to the 9th place, while Left 4 Dead can barely be seen at number 15. Older games were revived last week, with Mario Kart Wii climbing to the third place, Wii Fit going up to five and Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training climbing up to grab the sixth place. The biggest surprise – LittleBigPlanet sales went down and Sony’s game is nowhere to be found in the top 20! I’m really curious to see if things will follow the same trend next week. Until then, here are the UK charts for the week ending 22 November 2008:

1. Call of Duty: World at War
2. FIFA 09
3. Mario Kart Wii
4. Need For Speed: Undercover
