Bible Black is a visual novel (one of the best, actually) that’s been available to PC users for about nine years. On the other hand, Final Fantasy XIII is an upcoming console RPG created by renowned Square Enix. So what do these two games have in common, you might ask? Character design, according to some!

The image comparison you can see in the upper left corner (click on it to enlarge) presents two different takes: above are some shots taken from the latest FFXIII trailer, and below are some other shots with a Bible Black character. Do they look similar?

Of course they do, if you want to put it that way and if you look at these images alone. However, if you play (or have played) Bible Black, you will notice that the two can’t really be the same: it’s a difference in style, eye color, hair color and most likely habits (even though I am sure there are some people who would definitely love to droll at some Bible Black-like scenes in Final Fantasy XIII). Indeed, everything else seems to go for the “same person” thingie, but even in the real world it happens for some people to look very much like other people…

Anyway, back to today’s topic: was this Bible Black character copied for the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII? Does having similar outfit, looks and gender make these two characters the same? What do you say?
