Fate Stay Night still the best I think..Deep story although somehow it’s repetitive events..My next choice is Tsukihime. Overall, Type-Moon Rocks. Love it

Anyway..these games are outdated…outdated..outdated =p
Visual Novels as the name suggests…comprises of 2 parts.lol…. the visuals and the plot part…these games more or less phail at the visual and music part..and that leaves us the plot. >.> If that’s the case..we might as well just go pick up a good book at Borders or Kinokuniya instead of playing these Visual Novels.

That said..the only decent visual novel in the list above is the ancient Nocturnal Illusion.

really… try the newer visual novels out there instead of these relics(Though I suppose they have their own appeal)

I second Asceai’s choices.. No offense but I think you’re missing out on some of the best stories in visual novels….all of Asceai’s choices are good solid stories with minimal h-stuff.

I recomend especailly One: To the Radiant Season
Followed by Kanon, (Japanese though) and the Xchange series for h-stuff. Wind~ Breath of Heart isn’t a horrible one. I notice the best visual novels are usually fan-translated, probably cas licensing fees are so high for offical translations

well i just started “playing” visual novels i only play`d two of them
Wanko to Kurasou and Tsukihime
Wanko to Kurasou was good story i liked it and the ending was pretty good two but Tsukihime is awesome every thing about it is great but on my misfortune today i finished story my first time and sadly the ending i got was true ending(sad ending T_T)well endings are divided to hapy and true endings end every character got one hapy one true ending and now i think if i get one more true ending i`m going to be so depresed that i wont be able to go to school but anyway its great it got kind of dark story and i would recommend playing it for those who don`t like hentai u can just download english version it gives u option to remove hentai scenes
well thats all i`l be sure to try some of the visual novels u all ecommended ^^

Kana:Little sister – If you want spoilers read reviews here http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/kana-little-sister – the best I have seen so far. Simply – has more meaning. You’ll see. And music is beautiful.

Tsukihime – great atmosphere and good music.

{Kana, Crescendo, Sensei 2} all from D.O.

Nocturnal Illusions could be quite good. It is spoiled by totally stupid game system which forces you to be seer. And if you by coincidence are seer, then there is no reason to play it anyway, is it ;)

True love is said to be good. I got bored by this micro management. Sims is more fun IMHO.

And very good visual novel might be also Myst or Thief or Gabriel Knight ;). I’d rather shut up now ;) .
